A mood board:
A visualization of a concept, idea, thought or feeling. It can help you visualize an idea you have about a particular space and is often the beginning of a good design. The nice thing is that it is an easy tool to make and is feasible for everyone. But creating a mood board that actually fits the space and what actually fits the possibilities of a room remains difficult.

Pinterest:
It's probably no surprise when I tell you that the best way to find inspiration for a moodboard is with Pinterest. But how to properly use Pinterest for an Interior moodboard. How does Pinterest actually work?
- Pinterest uses its algorithm to search for images you might like. These are all displayed on the main page of Pinterest. You can save (pin) them or, just like on Google, search for images.
- You can divide your saved images (pins) into boards, kind of like a pinboard, this is very useful if you are not quite sure which interior style suits you best. You create a different board for each atmosphere or style.
- Through that Pinterest board, you can "save more ideas. This option is displayed at the bottom of your Pinterest board. The algorithm here is only going to look for options for that board.
- You can still divide this board into sections where necessary, and if you are smart you name them after the different rooms within your home. For example: bathroom, kitchen or bedroom.
Did you know that with each image you are also presented with similar images?
Okay! Now you know how Pinterest works and how to use it for your interior design moodboard. Time to explain to you what makes the difference between an okay moodboard and a super moodboard!
Your home on the mood board:
What many people do when they create a mood board is to indiscriminately collect images of what they like, but there is no clarity. Therefore, it helps to collect specific images, with possibly a description to indicate what you really like about the image. The complete image should be correct. Imagine you live in an apartment that is full of authentic elements and all you choose are pictures of a huge modern villa! How will you then apply these ideas to your interior? If you show that mood board to someone else, they might not even realize that it's for your own home. That's why it's so important to stick to what's possible in your home!

Good! It's time to choose. Pick the images that you think best fit what you want to achieve in your interior. You are going to download these images and collect them in a folder. Make sure you have enough to fill your mood board. You are going to drag these images into Google Images to see if there are images with a better resolution. If there are then save them over the existing image. This is important so that as you scale an image you keep a sharp image. When you go to print your images this is even more important.

Getting started:
Now you've made the perfect selection for your mood board. Now you are going to compile it into a beautiful collage. This collage will be a representation of your interior without you having decided anything else concrete. It is up to you whether you prefer to put everything together online or get creative. Both have their advantages. If you are going to do it online you can easily resize your images and adjust things easily. If you do your crafting you can make it as crazy as you want, let your creativity flow!
Personally, I prefer a combination of. I start by making a nice collage in Canva. Later I print it out and add some samples of the materials I would like to use. For example, think of colors for the walls, wood for the floors and tiles for the kitchen.

But mainly do what you like to do not is wrong. Just remember to stick to the interior design style you have in mind! Will you get started after reading this blog?
