There finally popped up that hole in our calendar. This "Responsible living with:" blog has been on the shelf for far too long. This time the word is on Andrea of Tabby Chique who manages to solve one of the biggest annoyances of cat and interior lovers with the creative take on vintage. So it was only natural that we interviewed her for our blog with responsible entrepreneurs. Hopefully this will get you as excited as we are !
Responsible Living With: Tabby Chic
This is Andrea, aka: Crazy Cat Lady, with one of the CEOs of Tabby Chique. Really crazy is not Andrea, of course. But she became a real cat lady when she was 4 years old, when she got her first cat, a tabby.
In her Tabby Chique studio, she transforms vintage and antique furniture into cat furniture. Her goal: to create products for our furry friends that fit "purrr-fectly" into stylish interiors while being functional. "You a stylish home and your cat(s) safe and happy place. When they're not using it, you still have an eye-catcher in your home," she rightly says.

- The daughter of a veterinarian with a home practice, Andrea grew up among all kinds of animals.
- Andrea is also a professional cat sitter
- That before Tabby Chique, she worked as a graphic designer for 20 years.

Plush Bed With Cat Print
THE frustration of Andrea, that's where the idea for Tabby Chique originated. "Why can't I find cat furniture that does match my interior and taste? And not another one of those plush cat-printed beds or sleek chilly designs."
She never found the answer to that question, but she came up with the solution herself. Namely, make this furniture herself! Thus, Tabby Chic was born. Not much later in 2020, the company was founded. A one-man business with 2 furry CEOs at its head.
Mix 'n Match
"I'm never that concerned with living styles, I make furniture that I like and as far as I'm concerned it fits into any home. I think you can mix & match (almost) anything." Says Andrea when I ask her about the (home) style she would attribute to her products. What does stand out is that the furniture being transformed is mostly vintage or antique.
This is not surprising because Andrea grew up not only among animals, but also in a house full of design and antiques. So her love for this has been in there from an early age. Just like the love for cabinets.
Therefore, for her, the tea cabinets have a small favorite role within the company. But "gosh, I actually like all my products, haha." She states when I ask about her favorite products and she is right about that too. I too am a fan of every piece of cat furniture that comes along.
A Creative Centipede
"I have an eye for composition, color and detail. That comes naturally, it comes naturally." With her business, Andrea utilizes all the skills you possess as a creative person, some of which can be learned relatively easily. Before starting her first projects, Andrea took a woodworking course. But it didn't stop there, over time she has learned so much more in terms of styling and renovating. "Too many to mention, it's a profession and I always want to do everything purrrfect." Though sometimes it was by trial and error.
Her graphic design experience is also evident throughout. With beautiful product photos, a fun insta feed and matching website, everything is totally Tabby Chic style! How clever that she built this company so completely by herself into what it is today (with help from the 2 furry CEOs of course).
